Using SVG images for backgrounds:

   - ungroup everything
   - then select all and choose 'object to path'

   - now everything should be in a flat list of objects and should all be paths
   - this is what is best supported

   - the SVG might be supported without doing this, however this will better ensure the results will be as expected
